The PressWhisper Privacy Policy

Most privacy policies are 10,000 words of legal jargon designed to confuse you while a corporation strips your data and sells it to the highest bidder.

We don't do that. We built PressWhisper to kill the spammy, unethical practices of the legacy PR industry. We treat your data with the exact same ruthless respect we teach you to treat a journalist's inbox.

Here is exactly what we collect, why we need it, and what we do with it. No fluff.

1. What we collect

To make the engine work, we need raw materials.

  • Account data: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. We need this to verify you are a real human and to process your subscription.
  • Your ammunition (press assets): When you use our tools, you upload organisation data, founder bios, images, and pitch angles. We store this securely so your dynamic press kits actually work and so the engine can formulate your pitches.

2. What we do not do

Let us be absolutely clear: we do not sell your data. Legacy PR agencies make their money by buying and selling lists of human beings. We sell software. We will never sell your personal information, your organisation data, or your PR strategies to third-party data brokers, advertisers, or your competitors. Your data is your leverage, not our product.

3. Who we share it with

We only share your data with the bare-minimum third-party infrastructure required to keep this machine running.

  • Payment processors: (e.g. Stripe) to handle your card securely. We do not store your card numbers on our servers.
  • Server hosts: (e.g. AWS / Google Cloud) to securely host your press kits and our engine.
  • The law: If we receive a legally binding subpoena, we comply with the law. Otherwise, our doors are locked.

4. Cookies and tracking

We don't use cookies, that's why you didn't see an annoying popup. Join us in sticking two fingers up at the dickheads who want to ruin your day with annoying popups. We also use basic (internal) analytics to see which pages are crashing or where users get stuck. We do not use invasive tracking pixels to follow you around the internet and spam you with shoe ads.

5. Your data, your rules

You own your data. If you want to leave, you can take it with you or burn it to the ground.

  • Access: You can see everything we have on you inside your dashboard.
  • Modification: You can change or update your information at any time.
  • The kill switch (deletion): If you cancel your account and want us to delete your data, email us at humans@presswhisper.com. We will wipe your account, your press kits, and your pitch history from our servers.

6. Changes to this policy

If we ever change how we handle your data, we won't hide it in a sneaky terms-of-service update. We will email you directly and tell you exactly what changed in plain English.

Questions?

If you have questions about this policy, don't talk to a bot. Email us at humans@presswhisper.com and a human will answer you.
